Post-Twilight...Percy Jackson & The Olympians!

We're hooked and had to share!

After "Twilight" I was in desperate need of a new series. Oddly enough, the recommendation for this book series came from Stephanie Meyer's herself!

THE PREMISE
What if the gods of Olympus were alive in the 21st Century?

What if they still fell in love with mortals and had children who might become great heroes — like Theseus, Jason and Hercules?

What if you were one of those children?

Such is the discovery that launches twelve-year-old Percy Jackson on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction – Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend.

These books are extremely well-written, fast-paced, and funny! They have won numerous book awards and rightly so! Sam and I love the action-packed story lines and also appreciate the opportunity to brush up on our Greek Mythology!

Check them out at the Roseville Public Libraries.

Happy Reading!

Share your Inner Book-worm!

Shannon passed this along and I thought it was kind of fun. I won't tag anyone, but if you're up for it definitely post what book happens to be near you too.

RULES
  • Grab the book nearest you-right now!
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence and a picture of the book along with these instructions in your blog.
  • Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, or the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
  • Now you do it!
