The Best Mother's Day Ever!

I have the best kids in the whole world
and every single Mother's Day they spoil me shamelessly!

I confess,
I eat it up!

And how could you not with all the tasty treats
set before me!

After a delicious Greek dinner of Lemon Chicken & Rice Pilaf
I tore into my bouquet of chocolate dipped strawberries!

Now that is my kind of "floral" arrangment!

 My little ones,
Thank you for a truly wonderful day!

You mean the world to me,
and I absolutely LOVE
being your mother.

There is nothing greater,
or more important,
than you.

Your father and I are blessed beyond measure!

Love ALWAYS,
Mom

P.S.
And Samuel,
I know you're exhausted...
thank you, sweetheart!

My Fabulous Four-Star Mother's Day

I am so grateful for my sweet children and a wonderful husband who always make Mother's Day special for me.

This year it all began with breakfast at the world famous...

"Elmer Restaurant"!

The elegant table, complete with a floral bed sheet tablecloth, held a bounty of edible treats...

The menu featured all of my favorites, including an egg white omelet and chocolate dipped strawberries!

The restaurant was all decked out with family photos and...

one-of-a-kind artwork!

Of course there were gifts, and yes,
that's a tea bag resting on my eye!

It's my spa treatment and it supposedly works miracles on tired eyes!

Are you guys trying to tell me something?

Anyhow,
It was a wonderful, wonderful Mother's Day!
I am grateful to have such beautiful, loving, and mostly well-behaved children!

Ta-Da: A Mother's Day Tea!

This year we were so excited to create an elegant Mother's Day Tea for Clista, my mother-in-law.

Together, the daugthers and daughters-in-law fussed in the kitchen to our hearts content, then donned our pearls, and arrayed the table with the fruits of our labors!

{Note how talented my sister-in-law Elizabeth is.
She made that incredible floral print dress!}

The Menu

Petite Turkey Crossaint Sandwiches
Sun-dried Tomato & Feta Puff Pastry Crisps
Classic Scones
Chocolate Orange Squares
Chocolate Truffles
Fresh Fruit
Parmesean Twists
Crackers & Fresh Herb Cheese
Herbal Teas

She arrived under the pretenses of helping Samuel with a Mother's Day Gift for me, and was delightfully surprised!

Clista and her beautiful daughters (from the left: Rachel, Leah, & Elizabeth).

We had such a great time, and it really was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this great woman who has helped to influence us all for good.

We love you!

{Note:  Jessica, my sister-in-law wasn't able to attend but we sure missed her!}

I weigh 20 pounds!

For Mother's Day, Ava's class hosted a special program complete with lemonade and cookies. Each child presented their mom with a bevy of handmade gifts, and some of my favorites are shared here. The funniest was a "fact sheet" she created about me. I love that in my daughter's eyes I weigh 20 pounds and my favorite place to go is Walmart!

Thank you for a wonderful Mother's Day sweetheart!

Samuel's Mom: Happy Mother's Day!

My mother-in-law is a really special lady. I am fortunate that such a wonderful woman, who is so caring, loving, and generous, raised my husband. He truly is a product of a loving family, who taught him standards and principles that are the foundation for our family today.

How can your children possibly repay you for all that you have done for us?
We can't!

But we tried!

Everyone pitched in for a lovely brunch at Mimi's Cafe, Chocolate-dipped Strawberries, and a Super-Rich Chocolate Cake!

Happy Mother's Day!

My Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day!

I'm always allowed to sleep in as late as I want, and when I make my grand entrance it's to a breakfast menu of my choice.

This year, I selected:

Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan cheese
&
Scrambled Eggs
Ham & Cheese Croissants
Chocolate Muffins
Orange Juice

This year, Samuel could only find a 6-pack of assorted muffins (poppy-seed, blue-berry, & chocolate), and of course, everyone's favorite is the chocolate. Because it was my special day, I was alotted one whole muffin to myself. However before I could take my second half, Iris scooped it up and licked it!

Where did she learn such a thing?

And not only did she lick it, but she proceeded to thoroughly enjoy it!

That little rascal.

Look at my beautiful family!

I could not be happier on this Mother's Day!

I hope you had a wonderful day too!
